President’s Message
Andrew
Ackerman has generously donated his father’s entire Civil War library of
books to the Round Table.
The books will be for sale at the November meeting.
They will be displayed before the meeting.
Please come early and peruse the books at your leisure.
On behalf of the Round Table I would like to thank Andrew for his
very kind donation.
December,
13th will be our annual Holiday Party.
All guests are invited to partake in the festivities.
We ask that everyone bring a dish - appetizer, salad, entree,
dessert - or paper goods to the meeting.
A list will be passed around at the November meeting so that all
members can sign up. The
knowledgeable and dynamic author, Robert Macomber, will be the speaker.
In December the raffle is all-inclusive and not limited to Civil
War items. All donations
will be greatly appreciated especially gift certificates.
A big THANK
YOU goes to Alan Konzelman for his gracious donation of a brand new
Keurig coffee maker. Any
coffee pods that you have would be greatly appreciated.
Just like the Civil War troops, we need our cup of Java.

November 8, 2017 Program:
Our program on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 will feature our own Robert
Krasner. His topic will be:
Rutherford B. Hayes and the 23rd
Ohio. He was a member
of the 23rd
Ohio regiment, lawyer, politician, philanthropist, president of the
National Prison Association, and father of eight.
October 11, 2017 Program:
Due to a scheduling issue, we cannot provide a synopsis of William
McEachern’s talk at this time.
His topic entitled: The
Break Though: The Fall of the Confederacy, was about the battle of
Petersburg and the penetration of the Confederate defenses in April
1865. In the near future,
the complete story will appear on our website.
